Week 1: Moving Forward - Set Your Goal

The purpose of this first week is to set a life goal and put it in writing. The goal can't too general like: "I want to be a better person". Our objective has to SPECIFIC because that helps us measure progress, and it should be a little CHALLENGING because that will help us grow. Here are the tasks we will tackle in our journals this week:
Consider a specific improvement you would like to see in your life over the next 6 months. Write is down as "I would like to....."
Now answer the following: What would be the outcome(s) of reaching this goal? For example: How would accomplishing this make you feel? What else could you achieve if you're successful in this one area?
Explain honestly why you think you're not where you need to be? In other words: why haven't you reached this goal already?
Gather information about someone you admire who has achieved great success in the area in which you want to grow. Find out how they did it. Use the internet. If you know the person...do a quick phone interview! Remember we're trying to discover HOW someone else achieved success. Write some of the things you learned.
Write ONE thing you can do before this week is over that will bring you a step closer to the goal you set. It could be something as small as looking at your calendar, making a phone call, or asking someone a question. Now get it done!
